Riga Gospel Choir

On December 23rd, we were honored to welcome the Riga Gospel Choir to Branka Branchotava to ring in such a beautiful and miraculous Christmas week.

The Riga Gospel Choir is a two-time gold medalist at the World Choir Olympics. The choir's artistic director and conductor is singer Kristīne Prauliņa, winner of the Grand Prix at the international jazz artist competition “Riga Jazz Stage”. She once became known to the wider public through her collaboration with maestro Raimonds Pauls and the Latvian Radio Big Band, but in recent years has earned public and critical acclaim for her solo project with the group “The Soulful Crew”.

The Riga Gospel Choir was founded in 2003 and has performed in many places in Europe and the United States, as well as participated in various domestic and foreign projects together with popular performers - they have sung on Brainstorm's "Skārda bungu tūrē", recorded the soundtrack for the Latvian dubbing of the Disney film "The Lion King", performed together with Grammy award winners Donald Lawrence and Myron Butler from the USA, Karen Gibson, conductor of the "Kingdom Choir" that gained popularity at the British royal wedding, Ukrainian pop music star Ivan Dorn and others.
